The owner of Credit Card Equipment Plus, INC, Michael R. Enea, has been involved in the credit card processing industry since 1994. Michael started his career in this industry as a Sales Representative for a large national company. After only 6 months, Michael became uncomfortable with the corporate structure of a large company, and believed there was a disconnect with the needs of the merchants in the Midwest. He searched for a smaller company based in the heartland of America only to find a home for several years with Credit Check, in Omaha, Nebraska. Michael worked himself into a management position overlooking Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan. He worked for Credit Check until 1997 at which time, it was sold to a large corporation. He stayed with that company and continued to work in the same management position he held with Credit Check, but that lasted only a few months. Again, uncomfortable with the larger corporate structure, he decided to start his own merchant service company.
Partnering with his former supervisor at Credit Check, Michael decided to create his own company, taking into consideration the needs of the business owners in the Midwest. Modifying and refining the company, Michael is always trying to find a way to learn more about the industry while at the same time offering merchants details about the industry that the industry usually does not offer. He believed then and believes now, that the industry is misunderstood, mainly because it does not take the time to educate it’s representatives. They learn the basics, and are sent in the field to convince business owners to switch processors. Because the representatives are under educated, they end up telling merchants what the merchants want to hear but unfortunately it is not complete and accurate information. Ultimately they create a negative outcome for the merchant, giving the industry a bad name.
A lot of merchants end up paying rates that are too high usually due to surcharges and miscellaneous fees they were never told about. Many merchants focus their attention on fees they understand, only to be surprised by hidden fees that they did not’t notice.
After 14 years in the business and deliberating for the last 5 years on an idea, Michael decided to take a bit of a risk and opened up Credit Card Equipment Plus, INC., a one of a kind retail/training facility in Brookfield. The company’s mission is to provide business owners with professional service, accurate information and options the industry rarely offers.
We guarantee merchants we will provide them with a better credit card processing service while at the same time we will lower their rates. And if we fail to beat the merchant's current rates, we will pay them $500.00.
In addition, if merchants are in need of equipment, they can come in and test various state of the art equipment as well as the good old reliable options from the past.
It is a complete training facility where business owners can send their staff to learn the proper and improper methods of accepting credit cards. And we are a full service repair center repairing equipment even if you are not one of our processing customers.
